Surrounding towns...The town of Sant Jordi is a mere 5 minutes from Maestrat Park. The town hosts a street market every Sunday, a wine tasting & barrel museum, as well as a park and play area for children. Also providing many necessities such as a pharmacy & doctors. You will also find an excellent bakery, tobacconist and butchers. 

As well as Sant Jordi, you can explore the pretty village of Cervera Del Maestre, the historical San Mateu, and Calig. Each hosting a number of restaurants & bars. 
The nearest beaches to Maestrat Park are at Vinaros and Peniscola only a few minutes away from the park.
Vinaros is a large lively town with a full range of shops and supermarkets, with a wonderful fish and vegetable market open all week . On the fantastic promenade just pick a bar overlooking  the beautiful beach and relax with sangria and some Tapas.
Just south of Vinaros you have Benicarlo, which also has  an indoor fish. meat and vegetable market that is open all week, which expands on Wednesdays into a full town market. 
Further down the coast you will find the historic town of Peñiscola with its wonderful beach and ancient castle, famous for the setting of the 1961 film "El Cid" and the filming of Game of Thrones.The town has many narrow alleyways with a range of quaint shops, bars and restaurants serving the famous regional paella dishes

Discovering history...The breath taking Ares Del Maestrat and Morella (awarded Prettiest Town In Spain since 2013) with history dating back to before 1170, San Mateu and Canet Lo Roig (which has the highest concrentration of millennial olive trees in Spain), all are crammed full of historical riches and only a short car drive away.

The region of Castellon boasts an enormous range of cycle routes, enormous! From the Serra d'Irta Natural Park, to the Dels Ports mountain range, to la Via Verde. Whether you can fit this all into one trip...? You might have to book a return trip to see!!!
